Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/ - The diversification of markets, enhancement of orchards’ productivity, through the intensive cultivation and use of irrigation systems, accessing of national programmes or on subsidization on behalf of the state have been discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and business people from the northern Briceni district, the government’s communication and protocol department reported.
The PM noted that ‘’now, our efforts are focused on the speeding up of the process of accession to the European Union. There is predictability there and the European markets already provide a string of opportunities for producers,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
The prime minister urged the farmers to consider the opportunities provided by the government, through the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA).
Also, PM Dorin Recean visited the enterprise Smarta-AS from Grimancauti, which holds about 60 hectares of apple orchard. The fruits cultivated get to be sold on markets from Lithuania, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Malaysia, via the Romanian port Constanta.
Due to subsidization programmes, financed by the European Union and the United States, the company purchased an anti-hail system and arranges cold storage rooms for depositing fruits, thus managing to extend its business.
Dorin Recean appreciated the fact that the managers of the company had reoriented the commercial flows to the EU market. The PM said that ‘’the government will continue efforts of attracting investments in Moldova and of developing the local and national infrastructure, in order to provide the conditions needed for starting and extending businesses.’’
