Nineteen scientists become corresponding members of Moldova's Academy of Sciences

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The General Assembly of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences (ASM) today elected 19 scientists as corresponding members of the Academy.

At the same time, the General Assembly elected four honorary members of the Academy of Sciences, all from abroad with outstanding achievements.

So far, Moldova’s Academy of Sciences has had 57 members, of whom 38 titular members and 19 corresponding ones, with another 19 corresponding members elected today. ASM president, academician Ion Tighineanu said that emphasis had been put on quality and performance. At the same time, a gladdening fact is that four women were elected as ASM corresponding members.

The last elections General Assembly of the Academy took place in 2017.
