Moldova to cooperate with International Committee of Red Cross

Chisinau, March 15. /MOLDPRES/- The parliamentary committee on foreign policy and European integration will propose to the plenary session of the Parliament the ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The agreement on the status, privileges and immunities of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Republic of Moldova aims to establish the legal framework that will allow the ICRC to benefit from the same conditions as any other international organization based in our country.
The humanitarian assistance provided by the ICRC to Moldova consists of crisis management support projects, including the one related to the large flow of refugees from Ukraine, psychological support programs for refugee children, refugee inclusion projects. Also, the ICRC aims to support the social protection system of our country by providing support to the most vulnerable groups of citizens, including for the cold period of the year.
The International Committee of the Red Cross, based in Geneva, is an independent humanitarian institution whose mission is to guarantee the protection of life and dignity of victims of national and international conflicts.
