Chisinau, March 16. /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Justice Veronica Mihailov-Moraru held a press conference today, and reviewed the actions taken in the context of justice reform and at the end urged the magistrates to participate in the General Assembly of Judges.
It is important for judges to take responsibility to actively participate in the General Assembly of Judges, during which the permanent members of the CSM are to be elected, as the CSM must take over solving the problems in the judicial sector.
"I appeal to all judges to take responsibility to attend this Assembly," the minister said.
She stated that if there is no quorum at the General Assembly of Judges, a new meeting will be convened.
Today the Parliament adopted in the second reading a draft law which stipulates that if the General Assembly of judges or prosecutors did not take place due to lack of quorum, the repeated assembly can be held within limited terms, and the quorum for the General Assembly repeated will be reduced to 1/3.
At the same time, the document regulates the situation in which the General Assembly cannot be convened due to the expiration of the mandate of the CSM and CSP members, the lack of a quorum or in the event of a state of emergency. Under these conditions, the General Assembly of Judges is convened and opened by the president or interim president of the Council.
