Chisinau, March 17. /MOLDPRES/-Promulgation decree and Law amending some normative acts on new regulations of the procedure for electing members of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) and the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) were published in today's issue of the Official Journal and entered into force.

According to the document, if the General Assembly of judges or prosecutors did not take place due to lack of quorum, the repeated assembly will be held in limited terms, and the quorum for the repeated General Assembly will be reduced to 1/3.

At the same time, the document regulates the situation in which the General Assembly cannot be convened due to the expiration of the mandate of the CSM and CSP members, the lack of a quorum or in the event of a state of emergency. Under these conditions, the General Assembly of Judges is convened and opened by the president or interim president of the Council. In the case of a vacancy in their position, the General Assembly of Judges is convened and opened by the Minister of Justice.

The law enters into force upon publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova.

Today, the magistrates of the Republic of Moldova are summoned to the General Assembly of judges to elect the governing bodies.
