Benefits to increase

Chisinau, March 17. /MOLDPRES/- The monthly state benefit for several categories of the population has been increased. Parliament approved a draft law in the second reading today.

It sees increased benefit to participants in the war on the Dniester, in combat actions in Afghanistan and in combat actions on the territories of other states. Persons with disabilities and surviving spouses from World War II, the combat actions for the defense of the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova and the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at Chernobyl will also benefit from increases in allowances.

At the same time, the monthly benefits will increase for the children of people with disabilities who died as a result of the war, the children of deceased participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.

For each category, the increase will be 250 lei. Thus, depending on the category of beneficiaries, the minimum amount will increase up to 800-1800 lei, and the total amount that would be offered from the state budget for this purpose will be about 90.6 million lei.
