In 2030, Moldova must be EU member country, president says

Chisinau, 17 March / MOLDPRES / - President Maia Sandu delivered a speech today to citizens at the parliament plenary session, the presidential press service has reported.
In her message, the head of state said "in 2030, the Republic of Moldova must be a member of the European Union. I went to Parliament today and in front of all citizens with this message."
At the same time, Maia Sandu emphasized that it is not enough to bring Moldova into the European Union. "We have to bring the European Union into our homes, build a European Moldova. The European path is the only chance for Moldovans to have a good life, in peace, in their own home. It is, in fact, the only path that ensures Moldova's survival as a free and strong country," the president said.
In her speech, the head of state also mentioned that all institutions and all citizens must contribute to the EU accession. "The Presidency, the Parliament, the Government, together with the entire society - we will all work to ensure peace and security for citizens, economic development and job creation, modernization of infrastructure and improvement of the quality of life in Moldovan localities, and for a justice system that delivers justice," the head of state said.
