Moldovan president has phone conversation with French counterpart

Chisinau, 17 March /MOLDPRES/- Today President Maia Sandu had a phone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron on the economic and security situation in the country, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state informed the French President that Moldovan institutions are facing challenges launched from outside the country and carried out by corrupt groups within the country. The president informed her counterpart about the actions taken by the government in the context of the European integration agenda, including justice reforms, and the authorities' determination to move forward despite obstacles.
The officials also discussed the preparations for the second meeting of the European Political Community, due on 1 June in Moldova, emphasizing that this initiative by President Macron is a necessary platform for discussions for all European states. The Chisinau officials thanked for the strong partnership with France and for the projects carried out through the French Development Agency (AFD), including those that help increase energy efficiency.
Macron assured us that France is by our side to overcome the difficulties we face and in our efforts towards democratic development.
