Global Money Week to be organized in Moldova

Chisinau, March 19. /MOLDPRES/- On March 20-26, the Ministry of Finance together with subordinate institutions will organize activities on Global Money Week. The actions are aimed at raising awareness of the importance and role of financial education.
According to the institution, the activities are supported by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and involve 176 countries. The Ministry of Finance joined this initiative for the first time in 2021.
During the event, titled Public Finance Talks, Finance Minister Veronica Sirețeanu will go to two high schools and four universities in Chisinau, where she will have discussions with pupils and students about public finances. The official will give a speech at the first National Forum of Financial Education in the Republic of Moldova, organized by the National Bank of Moldova. The minister will talk about the role of the authorities in the financial education process and what they must do so that citizens understand financial concepts better.
At the same time, the State Fiscal Service planned to organize a debate session with the participation of students from the Aristotel Theoretical High School, dedicated to the percentage designation mechanism (2% mechanism). Also, the Customs Service will organize information sessions, visits and excursions in the territory for high school students and students from Cahul, Balti, Rezina, Chisinau, Râșcani and Căuşeni. Customs officers will talk to young people about the role, mission, values and duties of the Customs Service.
The event is a global movement to increase the level of financial education among young people.
