Orheiul Vechi reserve to be renovated in state-funded regional project

Chisinau, March 20. /MOLDPRES/- Construction and rehabilitation works of cultural objectives at Orheiul Vechi Cultural-Natural Reserve, included in a regional development project are under development, the Center Regional Development Agency (ADR) announced today.

"Right from the entrance to the territory of the Reserve, visitors can already see the new construction of the Defense Wave, which has been reconstructed and is to be fitted out inside with spaces for exhibition halls. Also here, the construction works of the multifunctional conference center have progressed, which after fitting out, will host important thematic events", indicates ADR Centru.

The project's contract was signed in late October 2022 and sees execution of the works within 14 months. The value of the planned works is 26.6 million lei (1.3 million euros), money granted from the National Regional and Local Development Fund.

By achieving the proposed objectives, the increase in the sustainable use of the cultural heritage, the highlighting of the architectural heritage, as well as the modernization of the existing infrastructures of the Reserve will be ensured. This will allow the considerable increase in the flow of visitors to the area, a fact that will have a beneficial impact on the local community, will support economic agents in the region and will encourage the exploitation of the tourism potential of the Center Region, ADR Center said.
