Concert dedicated to Day of Bessarabia's Union with Romania to take place in Chisinau

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Mihai Eminescu Romanian Cultural Institute in Chisinau, in cooperation with the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic from the Moldovan capital and the George Enescu Philharmonic from Botosani, with the support of the Botosani city hall, organize a symphony concert, in order to mark the Union of Bessarabia with Romania, held on 27 March 1918. The event will take place at the Palace of the Republic on 23 March at 18:00.

The cooperation between the two philharmonics takes place in the context of the 70th anniversary of the work of the George Enescu Philharmonic from Botosani.

The Day of Bessarabia’s Union with Romania is celebrated each year on 27 March. Public, cultural, scientific events and manifestations dedicated to this important moment of the history take place on the eve of this day.

The Country Council, which held a solemn meeting in Chisinau, voted for the union of the Romanian province of Bessarabia with Romania on 27 March /9 April 1918.
