Moldovan deputy premier chairs meeting of national committee for combating human trafficking

Chisinau, March 21 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration chaired first meeting of the national committee for combating human trafficking this year, the MAEIE press service has reported.
A national report on the implementation of the policy to prevent and combat human trafficking for 2022 was presented and approved at the event.
Popescu emphasized the importance of preventing human trafficking, especially in the context of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine and the presence of Ukrainian refugees in Moldova.
The concept of the new policy document in preventing and combating human trafficking was presented. At the end of the event, the participants approved the nominal composition of the national anti-trafficking expert group, DIREX, who will be involved in the preparation and implementation of the first simulation-based national anti-trafficking training exercise in the Republic of Moldova.
