About 40 cases of influenza recorded in Moldova last week

Chisinau, 28 March /MOLDPRES/ - The National Public Health Agency (ANSP) has informed that 42 cases of seasonal influenza and 6,988 cases of acute respiratory infections were registered last week.

According to ANSP, most flu cases – 36 – were recorded in Chisinau, followed by Cantemir – two cases, Balti, Orhei, Ungheni and Comrat – one case each. No cases of death because of influenza were registered.

At the same time, the number of viroses decreased by 15 per cent against the week before, with 6,988 cases recorded, of which 2,653 ones in Chisinau (38 per cent). As much as 57 per cent of the cases of acute respiratory infections represent children smaller than 14 years.

A number of 1,896 cases of flu and 247,761 cases of acute respiratory infections have been registered since early last October so far.

ANSP specialists recommend that the people observe the prophylaxis measures, in order to avoid the falling sick.
