Rains, wind fall trees on national roads of Moldova

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - About 100 trees were fallen on national roads by the strong wind and rains recorded on 28 and 29 March, according to the State Administration of Roads (ASD).
To remove the consequences and damages triggered by the bad weather, the territorial units of the Drumuri (Roads) stock company carried out more works. ‘’It is about the evacuation of branches and trees from footways and roadways of the road segments affected; cleaning of roads and water evacuation ditches, which were stuck in mud; reestablishment of road signs,’’ ASD said.
According to ASD, the intervention of road workers was needed in about 68 segments of national public roads, hit by the bad weather conditions. ‘’Interventions were made in la Balti, Falesti, Cahul, Taraclia, Causeni, Leova, Anenii-Noi, Criuleni, Donduseni, Nisporeni, Rezina, Glodeni, Soroca, Ungheni, Ceadar-Lunga and other. The territorial units of the Roads stock company continue monitoring the segments managed and intervene where needed, in order to remove the consequences,’’ ASD added.
The State Hydrometeorological Service extended the Yellow Code of wind gusting till 30 March. According to meteorologists, in most regions, the north-western wind will record gustings up to 15-18 metres/second.
