State of Israel donates 590 tablets to schools of Moldova

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - The State of Israel has donated 590 tablets for education institutions from Moldova. The IT equipment will be distributed to the schools where children refugees from Ukraine, as well as children from Moldovan vulnerable families study.
Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala has said that the equipment was expected in schools, in order to be used by children at informatics classes, as well as at other disciplines. Pupils from Ukraine will use them, in order to get connected to the online classes from their settlements, to communicate with colleagues, teachers from Ukraine, the minister noted.
In his speech, Ambassador of the State of Israel to Moldova Joel Lion informed about the openness of the Israeli authorities, in order to support the Moldovan people and the Ukrainian one on this complicated period, in the context of the war in the region.
The endowment of the general education institutions with IT equipment will continue on the next period. Digital laboratories will be created in about 70 general education institutions, due to be endowed with UNICEF’s support.
At the same time, over 5,000 laptops will be brought to schools with the World Bank’s support. The IT equipment will be purchased for schools also based on a grant on behalf of the Global Partnership for Education, with over two million dollars used on this purpose. Also, training courses in the IT sector will be held for teachers.
