Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - Twenty three young engineers, economists, jurists and IT specialists will benefit from paid probations during six months in 11 public and private organizations from the energy sector, for the first time ever in for Moldova’s energy sector. The initiative is financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is implemented by Moldova’s Energy Security Project (MESA).
The goal of the programme of probations is to consolidate the human capital from the energy sector, through attracting young people and backing the key organizations, as well as to create a labour force prepared to speed up the transition to a safe, sustainable and competitive energy future.
Attending the event on the launch of the programme on probations, Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said that, at present, a big need of staff was recorded at the Energy Ministry. ‘’I am confident in the probationers selected by the MESA project and I hope that the beneficiaries will remain at the ministry after the probation is over,’’ the minister noted.
„We are glad that we can cooperate with the institutions from the energy sector, in order to strengthen their capacities through gifted young people who will join them. The young people will be able to develop the technical abilities needed to back the country to make a successful transition to the clean energy,’’ Director of USAID Moldova Scott Hocklander said.
The last-year degree or master students, as well as graduates from the fields of energy, economics, law, finances, communication, IT and business administrations, who want to start a career in the energy sector, were selected to the programme. The probationers were selected following a contest to which 150 applicants submitted their files.
