Moldovan president has meeting with Council of Europe's Secretary General

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today welcomed in Chisinau Council of Europe’s Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić, on a working visit to Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.
„Today I met again in Chisinau Mrs. Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić, with whom I discussed Moldova’s cooperation with the Council of Europe. In the last years, with the support of the Council of Europe, we have advanced in more key sectors: defence of human rights, organization of free and fair elections, ensuring the local autonomy and development of the independent mass media,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
At the same time, the head of state appreciated the Council of Europe’s support for the carrying out of the justice reform. ‘’We will continue the changes underway, despite the difficulties faced and the resistance put up by some people from this sector. A correct and independent justice will ensure the development of the economy and the consolidation of the state and is an essential condition in our European integration,’’ President Maia Sandu stressed.
