Moldovan PM, executive director of World Bank Group discuss situation in banking sector

Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/ - The present situation in the banking sector, the need to stimulate the economic growth and the attraction of investments have been the subjects of discussion between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and the executive director of the World Bank Group, Koen Davidse, the government’s communication and protocol department reported.
PM Dorin Recean highlighted that the volatile regional and global environment needed institutional reforms and changes, which will make Moldova’s economy more sustainable and resistant to shocks. Also, the official referred to the enhancement of the competitiveness of the country through investments in the sectors of energy, transport, financial field, as well as in the value chains of exports.
The executive director of the World Bank Group, Koen Davidse, welcomed the authorities’ actions in overcoming the crises on the last period. He reaffirmed the institution’s support to increasing the state’s capacity of implementing international projects and programmes.
