Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today approved, in the first reading, a draft law which provides for the compensation of the costs borne by employees for the alternative services of care of children up to the age of three years inclusively. The size of the compensation will be up to 2,500 lei monthly for each child. The payment will not be taxed.
The legislative initiative for the development of the alternative service of care of employees’ children was submitted by the head of the parliament’s commission for social protection, health and family, Dan Perciun. According to the author, the law will contribute to the reducing of the pronounced gender difference on Moldova’s labour market and, in most cases, has a negative impact on women. The introduction of facilities would allow employers and employees to turn to good account women’s work and to contribute to the general economic growth through the full involvement of women.
„The draft’s goal is to encourage the employment, especially of women with small children, and is part of a large package of laws, in order to enhance the rate of women’s employment,’’ Perciun said.
To enforce these norms, it is necessary to amend the Fiscal Code, the law on the public system of social insurances, the law on the size, way and terms of payment of the mandatory health insurances premiums.
