Seven people under house arrest, four under judicial control, after Giurgiulesti raids

Chisinau, April 3 /MOLDPRES/- The investigating judges ruled on the actions of the prosecutors on the arrest of the 11 people, detained by the CNA in the ANSA case, Giurgiulești. Thus, seven people were under house arrest and four under judicial control.
According to CNA, the magistrates placed the head of the Giurgiulești Border Inspection Post (PIF) of the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) and six subordinates under home arrest for 30 days, and four inspectors under judicial control. Regarding house arrests, the court ordered the Probation Office to apply the monitoring bracelet.
Recently, the head of the Giurgiulești Border Inspection Post of ANSA and 10 subordinates were detained by the CNA and the anti-corruption prosecutors in several cases on acts of corruption. The officials are accused of collecting illegal payments from various economic agents for facilitating the transit of goods.
According to the materials, the amounts obtained per shift amounted to 15 thousand lei (750 euros) - money collected at the Giurgiulești-Reni and Giurgiulești-Galați border crossing points. Several sums of money, in different currencies, were seized during the searches.
