Customs Service collected over 692 million lei last week

Chisinau, April 3 /MOLDPRES/- On 27 March -2 April the Customs Service collected over 692.8 million lei (about 34.6 million euros) to the state budget.

According to the institution, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 20.7 million lei were collected, which represents 3% of the total amount collected. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.

At the same time, during the past week, 11,520 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 68,153 crossings.

In terms of the fight against fraud, 29 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 113 thousand lei were applied.

Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 8.5 billion lei to the state budget, up by 18% compared to the same period last year.
