Chisinau, April 3 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu said today that after nine years, Chisinau International Airport is back under state management, the presidential press service has reported.
"After 9 years, since Shor, supported by Plahotniuc, stole the Chisinau International Airport from the citizens, taking it under concession for 49 years, we managed to do justice in this case. It is the merit of the citizens - of those who came out to protest against corruption and who, through their vote, drove the thieves from power. We asked the responsible institutions to ensure the proper functioning of the airport, including to ensure more routes, to more destinations and at affordable prices", the head of state said.
Also, Maia Sandu pointed out that the responsible institutions must investigate all the irregularities made during the period at the airport, and the people involved in should be investigated. "Following the airport concession scheme, the state lost revenues estimated at 1.6 billion lei. I am convinced that in the coming years we will succeed in building a European justice system and a European infrastructure - this is the path we have chosen together", the president said.
