Chisinau, 3 April /MOLDPRES/ - A novel titled, ”Notre-Dame”, signed by writer and journalist, Constantin Olteanu, has recently appeared at a publishing house from Chisinau.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the author said the volume comprised 148 pages and had been published in 300 copies. This is the second novel by Olteanu, after his first novel, Green Card, appeared in 2022. The novel is about a young man who arrived in America, following a dream, which is not only his one. It is about a road with many questions and which not always have the answer expected.
”The idea of the novel appeared when the great drama from Paris occurred - the Notre-Dame Cathedral burned. The fire took place against the background of big social unrest, which seemed to be endless. Through the burning of the Cathedral, God spoke to the French nation. A Notre-Dame burns in each of us. We are just the ones who set fire on it,’’ the author said.
Constantin Olteanu was born in the village Baurci Moldoveni, southern Cahul district, on 15 October 1959. In 1983, he graduated from the Moldovan State University, the Journalism Faculty. In 1991, Olteanu debuted as writer with a book of poems. He worked at more newspapers and at a magazine. Presently, Constantin Olteanu is editor-in-chief of the Săptămâna (The Week) magazine.
