ANRE: There are prerequisites for reducing electricity tariffs

Chisinau, April 5 /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) found premises for reducing tariffs and regulated prices for electricity delivered to final consumers. The decision was announced today, taken following the preliminary analyzes carried out by the Agency's specialists.

ANRE asked the suppliers to submit the adjustment requests by April 7, in order to start the legal procedures to reduce the rates and prices as soon as possible.

"Next week, we will announce all the information on this issue", stated ANRE.

At the end of last week, Energocom signed a new contract, for half a year, for the purchase of electricity from the Moldovan Thermal Power Plant in the Transnistrian region (MGRES). The procurement price is $66/MWh, seven dollars less than in the last four months.
