Difficulties recorded in movement of road transport from Moldova to, from Romania

Chisinau, 5 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Border Police today informed that the movement was taking place with difficulties to and from Romania, in the western and northern region of the border.   

According to the institution, the crossing through the Sculeni border checkpoint is complicated, because of the bad weather. At the same time, the Romanian authorities said that the movement was difficult on the Sculeni-Iasi road.  

Border policemen recommended that citizens opt for other Moldovan-Romanian border crossing points, such as: Leuseni-Albita, Cahul-Oancea or Giurgiulesti-Galati.    

At the same time, employees of the north regional department act in more settlements from the border zone, as well as on the roads of access to the border crossing points, in order to help people stuck in snow or transport means which skid from road.

Meteorologists issued a Yellow Code of complicated weather conditions valid till 6 April. On this period, heavy precipitation (15-20 litres/square metre during 12 hours) in form of rain and sleet, which turns into snow, is forecast. The north-western wind will have gustings of 15-20 metres/second. Also, a Yellow Code of frosts is forecast for 6-8 April. Thus, at night and in the morning, frosts of -1 - -3 Celsius degrees are expected in places in the northern part of Moldova.
