Chisinau, 5 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean today visited a centre of ecological training, an organic garden, a station for collection of waste, which promote the ecological agriculture in the Rascova commune, Criuleni district, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM made a tour in the settlement; took knowledge of the residents’ lifestyle, projects carried out in the agriculture sector and the one of organizing events, as well as about the idea of the commune’s development.
Liliana Botnaru is the author of the EcoVillage Moldova project – a family business which promotes the tourist potential of the region, as well as the entrepreneurial spirit of the community. The Rascova residents and the commune’ mayor, Serghei Camenscic, support the initiatives, trainings and events organized here, including the campaign of afforestation, joined by the community.
Presently, there are three buildings on public ground, of which one is residential, one oven for bread, a bee garden for the production of organic honey and a warehouse from recycled pellets for depositing bicycles, which are the favourite transport means of the commune’s residents. The houses are constructed of clay and endowed with solar panels made in Moldova.
„I urge citizens to visit them and learn more new things about the ecological practices, about the energy efficiency and the social entrepreneurship and to buy products grown by Rascova residents at the agricultural cooperative, EcoVillage Farms. Through such ways, we cultivate, best of all, the feeling of community and develop our regions with care for the nature,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said in the end of the visit.
The Rascova village has 1,172 residents and is the only settlement of the Criuleni district which records an increase in the number of residents. Over 50 events with agro-tourist character are organized here annually.
