Winter conditions in north, west of Moldova

Chisinau, April 6 /MOLDPRES/- There are winter conditions in the north and west of the country, the Border Police announced today.

According to the institution, all the border crossing points are functional, and the access roads to the border are passable. At this time, in the northern and western region of the country it is snowing in some areas.

The border police recommend that the drivers, who have planned a trip, inform themselves in advance about the weather conditions in the country and to equip their means of transport accordingly.

In Romania, during the past night, several road sections in Iași and Vaslui counties were closed.

Meteorologists have issued a yellow code of complicated weather conditions, valid until today. During this period, large areas will experience heavy precipitation (15-20 l/m2 within 12 hours) in the form of rain and sleet, turning into snow. The northwesterly wind will show gusts of up to 15-20 m/s. For April 6-8, a yellow frost code was announced. In the night and morning hours, isolated in the northern half of the country, frosts of -1..-3°C are expected.
