TOURISM & TRAVEL EXPO exhibition inaugurated in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/ - The 26th edition of the TOURISM & TRAVEL EXPO exhibition was inaugurated at the Moldexpo International Exhibition Centre today. The event brings together over 60 companies from Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria and Georgia, which represent the most attractive tourist bids. The exhibition will be opened till 9 April.
TOURISM & TRAVEL EXPO is the only exhibition event of this profile from Moldova, meant to contribute to the development of the tourism industry, to improving the quality of services in the sector and to getting close of the tourist destinations to beneficiaries.
During those four days of the exhibition, visitors will be able to benefit from the most diverse tourist bids, including from early bookings for almost all directions of vacations available, obviously, at attractive prices, including with sales. The participating companies will promote both the traditional directions of vacations at the seaside, and new tourist destinations, leisure packages for different categories of tourists, family vacations on the summer period and during the velvet season, a wide range of spas, tours, etc.
Attending the inauguration, Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said that TOURISM & TRAVEL EXPO was the greatest event in the tourism sector in Moldova this year. ‘’For the Culture Ministry, the promotion of Moldova as authentic tourist destination through developing partnerships is a priority,’’ the minister noted. According to Prodan, in 2022, Moldova recorded increases in the principal statistics indicators as to the domestic tourism, with a 56-per cent growth against the 2021 year.
The director general of the Moldexpo International Exhibition Centre, Carolina Chiper, said that, this year, the organizers had tried to put emphasis on the promotion of the domestic tourism. ‘’There are representatives from 12 districts of the country, from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia and the Transnistrian region at the exhibition. During four days, visitors will be able to see works by popular craftsmen, will enjoy traditional Moldovan dishes, including with presentations of fragments from traditional weddings,’’ Carolina Chiper noted.
The exhibition is organized by Moldexpo, with the support of the Culture Ministry and the Investments Agency, in partnership with the National Inbound and Domestic Tourism Association of Moldova (ANTRIM), Employers’ Association of the Tourism Industry from Moldova (APIT) and the USAID Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project, with the subsidization support of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA).
