Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/ - An exhibition of Polish posters of the series, Plakat Polska, by artist Ryszard Kaja, was inaugurated at the National Art Museum of Moldova today. The exhibition comprises 48 works.
In the beginning of the event, the museum’s director, Tudor Zbarnea, said the Polish artists had been the ones to lead the fashion of the posters all over the world. ‘’This is an exhibition which I hope will attract interest of teachers from the fine arts sector and of students from those three faculties in this field,’’ Tudor Zbarnea noted.
For his part, the deputy director of the Polish Institute in Bucharest, Wojciech Mrozowski, said that, at present, when borders play a conventional role and people travel a lot and change their address of residence, each person has a place which he/she misses, the person is attached to or which he/she recalls with pleasure. The posters of Ryszard Kaja help us not forget these places. They represent a symbol of love and admiration for different regions of Poland, with all their advantages and disadvantages.
Pictor, scenographer, drawer, creator of posters Ryszard Kaja (1962-2019) debuted in the end of 1980s, beginning of 1990s, as scenographer at the most important opera and ballet theatres from Łódź and Poznań. In 1990s, and the beginning of 2000s, he was one of the most famous Polish scenographers. His posters (over 500) brought him international recognition quite quickly. In the late decade, the POLSKA poster was widely appreciated, getting an incredible popularity and the status of work cult.
The exhibition will be opened till 18 June.
