Conference - Cultural heritage of Lower Prut: source and landmark for generations

Chisinau, Apr. 7 /MOLDPRES/- The National Centre for Safeguarding and Promotion of Intangible Cultural Heritage, together with the Public Association "Moștenitorii", Câșlița-Prut city hall, Cahul district is holding on Saturday the first edition of the Cultural Heritage of Lower Prut Conference: source and landmark for generations.

The event aims at promoting traditions, customs and traditional crafts of this ethnographically representative region for the Romanian cultural space, capable of enriching the circuit of national cultural values and contributing to the sustainable development of the region.

According to the organizers, many researches and ethnographic descriptions of the cultural heritage of Colibași, Văleni, Câșlița-Prut, Slobozia Mare, Giurgiulești have been done, but the local cultural experiences and achievements have not always been interpreted even by the bearers of the traditions together with the researchers. The communicators will present customs, traditions and traditional crafts from the Prut meadow.

Ethnographers, researchers, folk craftsmen, teachers, representatives of local public authorities, etc., will participate in the event, in the hope of seeing the outline of new projects to support and to contribute to updating the collaborative relationships between specialists and cultural institutions, including organizations involved in the development of rural tourism.
