World Health Day marked in Moldova

Chisinau, Apr. 7 /MOLDPRES/- World Health Day is marked in Moldova - the day of the foundation of the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to the National Public Health Agency, the eradication of smallpox, the strengthening of health systems, tobacco control, immunization programs, control of infectious diseases, improving access to essential health services - these are all achievements of the World Health Organization over the years. These actions had a major impact on public health.

WHO is one of the main international partners that provides support to the country in the public health, including strengthening the capacities of the National Public Health Agency.

The celebration of the 75th anniversary of the WHO will take place in our country through health promotion actions, such as: discussions on healthy eating, healthy cooking master-classes, organization of marathons, fast walking activities, competitions of drawings on health and distribution of informative materials.
