Hundreds of schools to receive new equipment worth 69 million lei

Chisinau, Apr. 7 /MOLDPRES/- Hundreds of schools in the country will receive modern digital devices and new equipment for physics, chemistry and biology laboratories. Their value is about 69 million lei (3.45 million euros). Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală made the statement today.

The physics, chemistry and biology laboratories in 160 educational institutions will have new equipment. These include microscopes, digital sensors, web cameras, laptops, projectors, monitors, printers and speakers. The devices cost 34 million lei and were bought under a project implemented with the World Bank support.

Digital laboratories will be set up or modernized in 69 educational institutions. With the UNICEF support, 1000 laptops were purchased that will be used by students to access educational platforms, including children of refugee families from Ukraine who study in schools in our country.

The Minister of Education also announced that the classrooms where Romanian lessons are held in schools with teaching in national minority languages will also benefit from new equipment. Thus, 15 schools will receive IT equipment, and another 200 schools will receive specialized literature. The ministry earmarked 1 million lei to this end.

227 schools will also receive 1,850 tablets, procured with the support of China and Israel. The Republic of Korea donated 340 computers, 235 smart programming devices, 56 tablets and other equipment to our country.

Anatolie Topală said that by next week the new equipment will arrive in the districts, and during April the local specialized bodies will distribute them to the schools.

The teachers who will apply the devices in the teaching process claim that the digital laboratories, as well as those of physics, biology and chemistry needed new equipment, and these will make the lessons more attractive and dynamize the study process.
