Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets Azeri deputy foreign affairs minister

Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has received Azeri Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Khalaf Khalafov, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.

„I appreciated the results achieved during those 31 years since the establishment of the Moldovan-Azeri diplomatic relations and I expressed our openness for developing the cooperation in the energy, economic and agricultural sectors. I also emphasized our interest to attract as many as possible Azeri investors in Moldova, in order to develop joint projects. Our country is interested in diversifying the sources and routes of supply with natural gas.

An important subject of the dialogue was focused on our interaction within international and regional organizations, including the mutual support of our countries’ sovereignty and territorial integrity,’’ the Moldovan official said.
