Chisinau, April 8 /MOLDPRES/- The problem of illegal hunting is the topic of an information campaign on environmental issues, initiated by the EcoContact Association this spring.
The act of hunting wild animals without complying with the laws and regulations governing hunting in the Republic of Moldova may include hunting without a permit, hunting outside the hunting season, hunting in protected areas or hunting species protected by law. "Thus, illegal hunting can be a major problem for biodiversity conservation, as it can lead to the decline of wild animal populations and disrupt the ecological balance," EcoContact said.
In the Republic of Moldova, hunting is regulated by national legislation and is allowed only during certain periods of the year, subject to strict rules and conditions. In particular, in the context of the state of emergency established on February 24, 2022, with the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the hunting rules and conditions are periodically modified by the decisions of the Commission for Emergency Situations.
