Moldovan president says country in great crucial moment

Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/ - We are in a great crucial moment. What we do now will influence our lives, the lives of our children and the children of our children. The next generations will look at how we behaved during these times and will wonder – what we did to defend our country. President Maia Sandu today made statements to this effect in a speech to the citizens. She urged the latter to participate in the National Assembly European Moldova on 21 May, which will be held on the Great National Assembly Square.     

The head of state informed that she had launched the initiative to summon an assembly in Chisinau, during which the citizens are to tell the world that they are Europeans and that this way is chosen by Moldova. ‘’Let us give an answer to those who wonder what the Moldovans want. A clear-cut answer. Our voice, of many people, the voice of our people, should be heard. The National Assembly European Moldova will be organized on the Great National Assembly Square on 21 May. The voice of each one will consolidate our European way. I come up with an urge to all people who till the land, teachers, students, non-governmental organizations, entrepreneurs, physicians, culture people, private sector employees, civil servants to back our common dream together. Let us prove that we want peace. We want the European Union to be at home in our country. Just as we assembled when we demanded independence and we got it. Just as we assembled when we defended the democracy and resisted in the most difficult times,’’ Maia Sandu said.  

The Moldovan president noted that, on the immediately next period, she would discuss with the pro-European political forces, the civil society, academic environment, with personalities of Moldova details on this event.   

„Even we have certain troubles. Even if we sometimes have different opinions, it is not the time for quarrel and division now. Now, it is time for us to unite and become part of the European family together. Great decisions are taken by people on the Great National Assembly Square,’’ Maia Sandu stressed.
