Big enterprises of Moldova to get support on behalf of state to align with environment standards

Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Environment Ministry will work out a programme on the support of the big industrial enterprises, for the aligning with the normative framework and the environment standards, through replacing the pollutant industrial processes and disconnecting the economic growth from the use of resources and degradation of the environment. The ministry’s leadership today made statements to this effect at the public hearings on the evolution of the implementation of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement. The event was organized by the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration and the environment commission.
At the hearing, Environment Minister Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov unveiled also other priorities of the ministry she leads, in the context of the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement. Among them, there is the approval of the national programme on adaptation to the climate changes and the action plan for its implementation; approval of the national waste management programme; revising the normative framework on the protection of waters against pollution with nitrates coming from agricultural sources.
Also, the minister presented information on the European Union’s directives transposed into the national legislation which regards more sectors: quality of air, climate policies, quality of water and resources’ management, chemical substances, industrial pollution and industrial accidents, protection of the nature and the biosecurity. Environment Minister Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov noted that, at present, nine directives were under transposition and ten ones were planned.
So far, the parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration has organized five rounds of public hearings of the ministries as regards the evolution of the implementation of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement.
