Number of COVID-19 cases decreases in Moldova

Chisinau, April 11 /MOLDPRES/ - The number of COVID-19 cases is decreasing in Moldova. At the same time, more cases of seasonal influenza and acute infections of upper respiratory ways continue to be reported, the Health Ministry has said.

According to the ministry, on 3-9 April, 684 COVID-19 cases were recorded, down by 31 per cent against the week before, 32 cases of flu, by 6.6 per cent more, 6,358 viroses, up by 1.4 per cent.

At the same time, the number of hospitalizations because of acute viral respiratory infections maintained at the level of the previous week. A number of 222 people were put in medical and sanitary institutions with viroses and 15 ones with influenza. Most hospitalizations are out of children of up to four years of age.

Asa many as 1,958 cases of flu and 260,386 ones of virosis were confirmed during this season in all.
