Moldovan premier pays unforeseen visit to Tvardita, seriously hit by ilegal overflows of residual waters

Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has paid an unforeseen visit to the Tvardita settlement, southern Taraclia district, seriously hit by unauthorized overflows of residual waters directly on soil and in the river Chirghis-Chitai, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

On the spot, the PM asked for the assistance of specialists from the Chisinau-based Inspectorate for Environmental Protection, who collected samples needed, in order to find out the degree of waters’ pollution.

According to Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the polluting activity will be interrupted till the remedying of the situation and the civil servants who ignored the ecological problem must be sanctioned.

„This attitude towards people, their health and the environment is inadmissible. The polluting activity will be interrupted till the situation is remedied. I will keep a close eye on the developments on this subject. The civil servants who tolerated this situation must leave their positions,’’ PM Dorin Recean added.
