Gas consumption decreased by 56% in March

Chisinau, April 12 /MOLDPRES/- This March, 64.7 million cubic meters of natural gas were consumed, which is about 56.7% less compared to the same period in 2022. At the same time, compared to February 2023, this indicator decreased by about 31.1 percent. The figures were presented today by Moldovagaz.

In March, compensations totaling 440.8 million lei (22 million euros) were calculated for over 578 thousand household consumers, depending on the energy vulnerability category assigned. Another 7.4 million lei were offered as compensation for over 10 thousand household consumers from tenant associations. In the case of legal entities, the total amount of compensations in March was 20 million lei.

According to the data of March 31, 2023, the payment level for natural gas consumption amounts to 89.1% for the volume supplied, which is 4.82 billion lei.

602 consumption units were disconnected from the natural gas distribution network, the debts of their owners being about 8.3 million lei.
