Balti thermal energy system to be modernized

Chisinau, April 12 /MOLDPRES/- The thermal energy system of Balti municipality will be modernized. The project sees the installation of individual thermal points (PTI) in 166 residential blocks and the construction of horizontal distribution thermal networks  and domestic hot water supply in 296 residential blocks. In total, it is estimated that about 2/3 of the consumers in Balti will benefit from these services. CET-Nord signed the consultancy contract with the consortium led by GMCS company (Czech Republic) for consultancy services within the modernization project.

The project is meant to increase the quality of the services provided to the residents of the municipality, by replacing the outdated vertical distribution systems with new horizontal distribution systems of thermal energy, with individual metering of the apartments, which will ensure thermal comfort through the individual management of thermal energy consumption and restoration of domestic hot water heating service.

The investment worth 15 million euros represents an EBRD loan of 8.5 million euros, a concessional loan offered by the Green Climate Fund of 1 million euros and a component for the refinancing of the historical debt to the natural gas supplier of 5.5 million euros.

Other investment components aim to optimize operational costs, automated control and monitoring, increase the lifetime of machinery and equipment and reduce thermal energy losses. They provide in particular the construction of a thermal energy accumulator, the modernization of the water treatment facilities within the Chemical Section, the implementation of a modern system for the distribution of the thermal agent.
