Japan to provide Moldova with 17 million dollars

Chisinau, April 12 /MOLDPRES/- The head of Moldovan diplomacy, Nicu Popescu, had a meeting with Ambassador of Japan Yamada Yoichiro, and approached the current agenda of Moldovan-Japanese relations, the upward dynamics of bilateral cooperation in the political, commercial-economic, investment and the support projects, the MAEIE press service has reported.
On this occasion, Ambassador Yamada announced the granting of a new instalment of assistance to our country of 17 million US dollars, to cover the interest rate paid to the World Bank.
"I wanted to thank the Japanese side for this gesture of support, which is part of the significant portfolio of assistance provided by Japan, so necessary for our country to overcome the challenges we face in the tense security situation in the region.
At the end, together with Ambassador Yamada, we emphasized the openness to contribute to the advancement of the Moldovan-Japanese partnership, the diversification of the mutually advantageous and sectorially diversified cooperation between our countries", the Moldovan official said.
