Two workshops on dyeing Easter eggs held at Chisinau-based museum

Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/ - Two workshops of dyeing Easter eggs have been held at the National Ethnography and Natural History Museum (MNEIN) during two days.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the museum’s director, Petru Vicol, said the dyeing of eggs was a tradition observed each year on the eve of the Easter Holidays. The first dyed eggs were donated to the heritage of the museum in the first decade of the 20th century. Presently, the collection of MNEIN comprises over 800 dyed eggs. The ornaments or motifs comprise a wide range of symbol signs, which represent various sector of human activity.
The goal of the workshops was to promote the tradition and turn to good account the technique of eggs’ dyeing on the eve of the holiday of Resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ.
