Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu, Romania’s Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu, First Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova, as well as Defence Ministers of Romania, Moldova and Ukraine, Angel Tîlvăr, Anatolie Nosatii and Oleksii Reznikov, respectively, brought together in Bucharest to participate in the second issue of the Moldova-Romania-Ukraine trilateral meeting, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
In September last year in Odessa, the sides established a format of trilateral dialogue, in order to coordinate the cooperation in fields of major importance for Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. This format of discussions represents an extra proof of the friendship relations and the close political and economic ties, based on understanding and mutual support between these countries.
In his speech, Minister Nicu Popescu reiterated that Moldova was with Ukraine in its resistance against the Russian aggression. The consistent position of Moldova has remained unchanged: we firmly back the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within the internationally recognized borders.
„The citizens’ safety and the country’s security is our main concern and we are prepared to ensure, in continuation, the peace, order, freedom and the European integration of Moldova.
I conveyed our friend Bogdan Aurescu the appreciation for the unconditional support provided to Moldova and Ukraine for our European aspirations, as our countries’ interaction is natural and extremely important for the joint solidarity.
Through this trilateral format, we make a joint step in the direction of accession to EU. We prove a natural, responsible and European approach, wishing to contribute to the most successful project of peace – the European Union,’’ the Moldovan official added.
A joint declaration was approved at the trilateral meeting.
