Moldovan-Romanian cooperation on university dimension discussed at Nicolae Testemitanu Medical University

Chisinau, 14 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan-Romanian cooperation on the university dimension, as well as in terms of attraction of foreign funds has been discussed at a meeting in Chisinau, with the participation of the leadership of the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) and the Arad city’s leadership.
The USMF Nicolae Testemitanu has been recently visited by a delegation of local authorities of the Arad city, Romania. The delegation is represented the executive director of the Arad County Council, Andrei Ando, deputy mayor of Arad, Lazar Faur, and programme manager at the Institute of development and projects’ Expertise from Moldova, Iurie Calestru.
The dialogue between the sides was focused on identifying fields and sectors of cooperation, development of joint projects on the attraction of European funds, especially due to the new status of Moldova – the one of country candidate for accession to the European Union.
Following an incursion in the University’s history, USMF rector Emil Ceban made a general presentation of the university’s infrastructure. He expressed willingness to establish a bilateral cooperation, in order to improve the quality of the higher medical education, strengthen the activity of research and innovation, improve the medical assistance and health services.
For his part, Andrei Ando said that constant efforts would be taken to extend the partnership with the USMF Nicolae Testemitanu. ‘’We have come to see how we can widen this circle of our cooperation and we will be happy, if we are able to create joint bridges in the long run and to edify nice things together,’’ the Romanian official said.
Also, the participants in the discussion put emphasis on the organization of probations for USMF Nicolae Testemitanu specialists for the transfer of knowledge and experience to colleagues from Romania in writing projects for getting European funds.
