Moldovan deputy premier meets NATO Deputy Secretary General in Bucharest

Chisinau, April 14 /MOLDPRES/- The head of Moldovan diplomacy, Nicu Popescu discussed in Bucharest with Mircea Geoană, NATO Deputy Secretary General, the MAEIE press service has reported.
The discussion focused on the security in the region, in the context of the unjustified war the Russian Federation is waging against Ukraine.
"I used this opportunity to reiterate the firm support of the Republic of Moldova for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the need to strengthen security in Europe.
We declared that the neutrality of the Republic of Moldova does not mean isolation, and we want our country to become a factor of stability in the region. Investments in security and defense will enable us to achieve this goal.
At the same time, I expressed Moldova's commitment to strengthen global security through participation in EU civilian missions.
Mircea Geoană reiterated NATO's commitment to deepen the partnership with the Republic of Moldova, as well as to support the reform agenda of Chisinau authorities", said the Moldovan official.
