Chisinau, April 19 /MOLDPRES/- First round of public consultations was held yesterday at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) on the draft Regulations on specific measures and conditions for complementary subsidies and advance subsidies from the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and the Rural Environment (FNDAMR).
The discussions focused on ensuring decision-making transparency and agreeing on a common stance on the package of measures that will be financed from the FNDAMR, the way of allocating resources, the eligibility criteria and the medium and long-term agricultural business development objectives.
Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, head of MAIA, said that the main objective pursued by subsidizing agricultural producers is to increase the competitiveness and resilience of the agricultural sector, as well as the development of physical infrastructure and services in the rural environment.
"The suggestions and recommendations of the business environment are very important to increase the impact of the subsidy process. We will analyze the submitted proposals and make changes so that the regulations will meet the needs and interests of all farmers", Vladimir Bolea said.
The Draft Regulations were set up under the new Law on subsidies in agriculture and rural environment, adopted by the Parliament in late March.
