ELECTIONS IN GAGAUZIA: Electoral debates for 30 April elections

Chisinau, April 19 /MOLDPRES/- There are electoral debates in Gagauzia in the context of the elections of the governor of the autonomy and two deputies in the People's Assembly, due on April 30.

The debates can be watched on public television from the autonomy.

According to the Electoral Commission of the region, over 92 thousand citizens with the right to vote are registered in the Gagauz autonomy. Starting from April 10, local residents can check themselves in the voter lists, according to gagauzinfo.md.

Nicolai Dudoglo, Grigori Uzun, Mihail Formuzal, Victor Petrov, Dmitri Croitor, Serghei Cernev, Evghenia Guţul and Serghei Cimpoies are aspiring for the position of governor.

Also, the Electoral Commission of Comrat approved the models of several electoral acts for the regional election. For the electoral campaign, the candidates have the right to spend 40 lei per voter.

Central Electoral Commission has already accredited several international observers to monitor the elections of the governor of Gagauzia and the partial ones for the People's Assembly of the Gagauz autonomy on April 30.

The governor (bashkan) is the supreme official of the Gagauz-Yeri Territorial-Autonomous Unit. All the authorities of the public administration of the autonomy are subordinated to him. Governor elections are held once every four years.
