Government approved ratification of Agreement on Moldova's participation in EU programme FISCALIS

Chisinau, April 19 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova's tax system will be adjusted to EU standards. The cabinet has approved following the initiative of the Ministry of Finance the ratification of the EU- Moldova Agreement on country's participation in EU cooperation programme - FISCALIS, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

"FISCALIS programme will support cooperation with the tax administrations of the EU member states. At the same time, it will contribute to the collection of taxes, combating tax fraud and tax evasion through the establishment of efficient IT systems, exchange of best practices, but also common risk management actions", Minister of Finance Veronica Sirețeanu said.

Thus, our country will benefit from support to improve the functioning of the internal market, boost competitiveness and fair competition.

The above-mentioned agreement was signed on February 7, 2023, in Brussels, and sees the granting of financial support worth 269 million euros. The program is to be implemented by the State Fiscal Service in 2023-2027.
