Policemen to boost activities of monitoring road traffic in Moldova

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ - Policemen this week will boost the activities of monitoring the road traffic, including with special equipment.

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the measure is carried out, in order to make more responsible the drivers, as most traffic accidents occur because of the excessive speed.

At the same time, on 21 April, during 24 ours, the radars of the National Inspectorate of Public Security will be used at the full capacity.

Since early 2023, 135 traffic accidents have occurred because of the excessive speed, in the wake of which 19 people died and 163 were injured.

IGP reiterated that the highest speed allowed in settlements was of 50 km/hour and 90 km/hour outside settlements.
