Representative of Russia's Embassy in Chisinau declared undesirable person in Moldova

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) today evening said that a representative of Russia’s Embassy in Chisinau had been declared undesirable person on the territory of Moldova, ‘’for actions incompatible with the diplomatic status, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961)’’. The concerned person was obliged to leave the territory of Moldova.
The Russian side was informed of this today afternoon, when Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov was summoned at the MAEIE’s headquarters.
Also, in the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said Moldova did not associate itself with the war and the atrocities taking place in Ukraine, noting that people backing this are not welcome in Moldova. The PM made this statement, referring to a case which took place on 17 April, when the president of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, was denied the entry to Moldova, as the reason for his arrival was not clear.
Recean stressed that the people who support the crimes, killing of civilians in Ukraine were not welcome on the territory of Moldova.
